Six keys to lead a minimalist life

Lately, through social networks or in person, many people want to know how they can lead a minimalist life, where to start. So to help you out here are the keys to lead a minimalist lifestyle.

  1. Eliminate everything you do not need from your life

Review each of your belongings, small and large, and ask yourself: do I need it? Have I used it in the last year? Do you bring something to my life? If the answer is yes to the three questions, you get it. If the answer is no then donated it, sell it or throw it away. Start by simplifying your closet, then by your house, and then everything else.

  1. Buy less but quality

Once the cleaning is done, stay firm with the rule “enter one, leave one,” so as not to accumulate again. By buying less, you can be more selective with what you buy. You will study the quality and durability of your purchase, as well as if it is sustainable. Be ethical by consuming. Learn to buy on sale.

  1. Simplify your life with technology

Technology, well used, simplifies our lives. Reduce electronic devices, stay with one or two that do everything. Digitize everything you can: scan documents, take photos of your memories. Simplify your email, your computer desktop, and your files. Learn how to use your smartphone and prevent the smartphone from using you.

  1. Take care of your health

Start with your diet. Eliminate from your life the foods that harm you, such as processed foods, refined sugar, white flour, margarine, sunflower oil or other refined oils, animal fats or caffeine. Drink enough water. Eat pesticide-free food, or plant your garden. Reduce the amount of food you eat: eat only what your body needs. Rest enough. All this will make you feel better and with more energy to enjoy your day today.

  1. Diminish the consumption of information

Stop watching or reading the news: Do not worry; the critical thing will end up learning. Stop watching TV. Check subscriptions to magazines or blogs and leave only that which brings something positive to your life. Devote all this time to read books that interest you, to help others or do other things that are important to you.

  1. Minimize the use of social networks

Reduce the use you give to social networks. Consult them as little as possible, once or twice a day. Remove friends from social media, stay with those who are your friends. Belong to groups that interest you, skip all others. You will gain peace of mind and time, a lot of time. You will have so much time that you will even be able to meet your friends in person.
